Roanoke Rapids High School Senior Aurora Myers was named as one of the 50 winners of the Goodnight Scholars Program at North Carolina State University and will receive a full scholarship to study biology there.

Paula Blanton Conner

Paula Blanton Conner, 70, formerly of Roanoke Rapids, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at her home in Calabash, NC.

A $1 million Ruby Red 7’s scratch-off ticket purchased in Roanoke Rapids was claimed Tuesday, the North Carolina Education Lottery confirmed in a statement today.

As his sentencing date draws close, the attorney for the first Operation Rockfish defendant to plead guilty in the case is seeking a variance in his client’s punishment.
