The sentencing of Wardie Vincent Jr., the first defendant in Operation Rockfish to take a plea, has been moved to the court’s June 13 term.

United States Senior Judge Malcolm Howard signed the order Thursday after Vincent’s attorney filed a motion seeking the continuance this week.
Vincent was originally scheduled for sentencing Tuesday in Greenville.
Thomas Manning, a Raleigh attorney representing Vincent, wrote in his motion, “Of surprise to undersigned counsel, the government indicated in its Sentencing Memorandum that it was still evaluating the defendant’s cooperation.”
Manning earlier this week also asked for a lighter sentence for his client based on his cooperation in the police corruption case.
