The Jackets were down 2-3 after four innings of play Wednesday night at home before the weather suspended the game. Then Thursday night at Northern Nash the game was resumed where it was left off and the Jackets prevailed with their season opener win. The Jackets won 8-6.
On the mound for the Jackets Wednesday night for four innings was Breanna Allen who allowed 3 runs, 6 hits and had 5 strike-outs, walked two batters and hit one batter with pitch. Cassidy Dickens picked up on the mound for the Jackets Thursday night at Northern Nash allowing 3 runs, 5 hits and had 2 strike-outs , walked two batters and hit one batter with pitch.

In game two of the night the Northern Nash Knights would pick up the win 14-11.
Starting on the mound for the Jackets was Breanna Allen pitching for 1 2/3rd innings allowing 4 runs, 3 hits and 1 strike-out, walked 3 batters. Megan Colston pitched the remaining 4 1/3rd innings allowing 10 runs, 9 hits and 4 strike-outs, walked 7 batters and hit one batter with pitch.

Post game comments from Roanoke Rapids head coach Steve Milligan, "Meagan Colston pitched in both the JV and Varsity games today, my hats off to her for doing what she was asked to do. Our varsity team split winning the remainder of the rained out game with Cassie Dickens pitching the remainder of that game. She did well. In the second game if the night we lost 14 to 11 with Meagan pitching the last 4 innings and a total of 15 team hits for the jackets."
Roanoke Rapids Varsity opens up conference play Friday at Warren County at 4 PM.
