The statewide general election will be held on Tuesday, November 5.

Polls will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day.

Voters will be asked to show a photo ID when they vote. All voters will be allowed to vote with or without ID. Voters who lack ID can get one for free from their county board of elections. 

Early voting in Northampton County will be held at the following locations from Thursday, October 17 to Saturday, November 2:

Northampton County Cultural and Wellness Center, 9536 Highway 305

In Jackson

Bishop W. I. Welch Community Center, 101 Cherry Street

In Gaston

Creecy Gymnasium, 210 Roberts Road in Rich Square

Early voting times are as follows:

Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Monday, October 21 through Friday, October 25: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Monday, October 28 through Friday, November 1: 8 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Saturday, November 2: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Absentee ballots will be mailed to voters who have requested them beginning September 20 for military and overseas votes and September 24 for civilian voters. 

A voter can fill out an absentee ballot request at votebymail.ncsbe.gov, or by filling out a request form provided by the board of elections. The request must be received through the website or by the Northampton Board of Elections by 5 p.m. October 29.

In the general election, voters will select candidates for U.S. President, U.S. House of Representatives, N.C. Governor, N.C. General Assembly, state and local judges, district attorney, and county offices.

The voter registration deadline for this election is 5 p.m. Friday, October 11. 

Eligible individuals who are not registered by that deadline may register and vote at any early voting site during the early voting period. 

New registrants will be required to provide documentation of their residence.
