A trespassing call Thursday afternoon led to the seizure of 34.5 grams of marijuana and the arrest of a Roanoke Rapids man.

Shortly before 4:45 p.m., Deputy E.D. Johnson of the Halifax County Sheriff's Office assisted Roanoke Rapids Police Department Sergeant Daniel Jenkins on a trespassing call on Twelfth Street, according to a statement by Major Scott Hall of the sheriff's office.

Johnson allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana coming from Justus Robert Scott Boyd.

A search of the 20-year-old revealed the marijuana and a digital scale.

Boyd was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and manufacture marijuana.

He received a $7,500 secured bond and was assigned a court date of January 22.
