Welcome to the new rrspin.com.
After doing this site ourselves for the past year, with some encouragement from our supporters and listening to our readers, we decided it was time for a more professional looking website to give you the latest in local news, opinions and obituaries.
This website does many things. It makes ads flow better, it puts reader comments back on the page, it gives you a chance to become a member and it gives you the opportunity to sign up for email alerts.
This site should read better for those who use mobile phones and it gives us some new features we are proud of — sports news feeds and puzzles and state, national and world news feeds are to come.
Some of the ads have to be replaced and repositioned but we are confident once all the tweaking is done this will be a website you will want to come to daily to get your local news and perhaps be more willing to spend your advertising dollars with us.
The new site makes it easier to share stories on the various social networking sites and improved analytics will give us a better idea on how many times this site is visited and how many times your ads are viewed and clicked.
One of the most important features of this new website is one we are extremely proud of and that is it was all conceived, designed and laid out locally, by The Computer Guy and Company in Roanoke Rapids. The site is also hosted locally now and, to us, that is important, a local online newspaper designed by people who live here, yet one which reaches a worldwide audience without leaving your home.
We can’t even begin to thank Curry Roberts and Bob Agoglia of The Computer Guy for their expert help. They have made this website something we are proud of and we hope you will be proud of, too — Editor.
