The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office reported the following, according to Captain Scott Hall:

On Thursday around 8 p.m. canine Corporal G.Q. Martin was patrolling the area of Julian R. Allsbrook Highway in Weldon when he observed a Honda Accord with dark tinted windows.

Martin initiated a vehicle stop and identified the driver as Telisa Antoinett Ransom, 41, of Weldon.

Martin detected the odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.

A search led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia along with a clear plastic bag containing cocaine.

Martin, with assistance from Weldon police officers, arrested Ransom and charged her with possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia and a window tint violation.

Ransom received a $1,500 bond and May 23 district court date.
