Mason Long Harp

Mason Long Harp, loving husband, father, and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, February 9, 2018 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville. 

Mason was a native of Roanoke Rapids, born on January 13, 1928, to the late Walter Harp and Allie Parks Harp. 

He was the longtime owner of Bell’s Mens Clothing Store. 

He was a charter member of Roanoke Baptist Church, also a former Deacon, Sunday School teacher and R.A. Leader. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Lee Harp, brother Alfred Lee Harp, and sister Margie Harp Ferguson.

Mason is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Helen Hawkins Harp, a son Timothy Lynn Harp of Roanoke Rapids, three grandchildren, Tammy Harp McGill and her husband Kevin of Goldsboro, Elizabeth Harp Furrow and her husband Josh of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and Thomas Wilson Harp of Pensacola, Florida, two great grandchildren, Morgan S. Waddell and Jack Thomas Dalton.

Funeral services will be held Monday February 12, 2018, at 2:00 P.M. at Roanoke Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Rogers and Rev. Randy Martin officiating. 

Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Sunday February 11, 2018 from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at Wrenn Clarke & Hagan Funeral Home.
