Andy was born in Halifax County and graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School, class of 1974.
He worked for the Virginia Department of Transportation and received numerous awards from the State of Virginia for his work-related accomplishments. He retired after more than 41 years of service.
During his leisure time Andy enjoyed history and geography.
He was preceded in death by his father, David P. Andrews Sr.
Surviving are his mother, Barbara J. Andrews, of Angier, NC; sister, Lou Morton (Michael), of Angier, NC; brother, Mitchell Andrews (Cheryl), of Chester, VA; nieces, Jennifer Andrews Morton and Paula Andrews Rott; nephew, David Noah Morton (Laura).
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 6, 2018, at Cedarwood Cemetery with Pastor Ray Teague officiating.
The family will receive friends at Wrenn, Clarke, & Hagan Funeral Home Tuesday, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00pm.
