Lady Vikings win VA side of 2017 "Battle of the Border" headed to Championship

The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets kicked of it's 2017 Battle of the Border High school softball two day tournament Friday and in game two of the day Brunswick Academy battled Greenbrier Christian Academy for the Virginia side.

Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity Jumps Out to Early Lead in Victory Over Greenbrier Christian

Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity grabbed an early lead on its way to a 6-1 victory over Greenbrier Christian on Friday. Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity scored on a single in the first inning and a passed ball in the second inning.

Greenbrier Christian took an early lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Greenbrier Christian.

Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first Katherine Daniel singled off of Workman, driving in three runs.

Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity had nine hits in the game. Kelsey Holloway and Daniel each collected multiple hits for Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity Holloway led Brunswick Academy Lady Vikings Varsity with three hits in four at bats.

Roberti went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Greenbrier Christian in hits.

Brunswick Academy advanced to Saturdays Championship game at 2PM as the Virginia team against the North Carolina side's Roanoke Rapids while Greenbrier Christian Academy will battle JH Rose at 11AM
