"The Lady Vikings started out a bit slow tonight but we're able to eventually match the energy of KVA," stated Vikings head coach Tim George.
The score was tied 1-1 at half with Abby George scoring an unassisted left footed goal from 20 yards just before halftime. The second half was evenly played with both teams having limited opportunities. Kerr Vance was able to take the early lead in the second half on a set piece from outside the penalty box, with Halifax evening the score midway through on a beautiful volley from Whitney George assisted by Kate Starnes.
The Lady Vikings were able to score early in the overtime period on a long cross from Kate Starnes with Whitney George on the receiving end for the winning goal.
"The defense had to earn this victory tonight as everyone stepped up against a solid team. The girls deserve a day of rest tomorrow to recovery and be ready for the next conference game later in the week playing The Epiphany School at home," added George.
