The Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets JV Baseball team defeated the Northern Nash Knights 20-3 in 6 innings Monday night on the road.

Brandon Collier started on the mound for the JV Jackets and gave up 3 runs in the 1st before setting down and finding his groove. Collier pitched for 3 1/3 innings and was followed by Cameron Medlin who came in and finished the game. Medlin pitched 3 2/3 innings, allowed no runs and struck out 6 batters.

At the plate for the Jackets, Medlin also went 3-6 with a solo HR over the left field fence. Jacket Bats finally came alive with Carson Neal going 5-6, Colin Long 2-6, Cameron Wilson 2-6, Ethan Vincent 3-5, Caleb Johnson 2-5, Matthew Williams 2-6 and Trevor Harrison coming off the bench with 1 hit at the plate.

Post game comments from head coach Aubrey Coker, "We played well in the field, having no errors defensively and ran the bases much better this game. It still took a while for our bats to come alive and we are not being aggressive enough at the plate by jumping on quality pitches. We will continue to work harder in practice which will prepare us for game situations. I am proud of the progress these young men are making but we still have a long ways to go. Our next opponent will be at Home game against Bunn on Friday at 4pm. "
