Southeast survives to elite eight while all other valley teams fall

Roanoke Valley Third Round NCHSAA Basketball State Play-offs Saturday February 25th results reported to RRspin Sports.

The Southeast Halifax Men's Basketball team are the only Roanoke Valley team still alive the State Basketball Championship!

 

2A Girls

#8 seed Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets (21-6) lost to #1 seed Bertie County Falcons (27-1) 41-56.

Roanoke Rapids Stats:

#15 seed Roanoke Rapids Yellow Jackets (21-7) lost to #6 seed Hertford County Bears (19-8) 56-71.

1A Girls

#7 seed Weldon Chargers (18-2) lost to #2 seed Roxboro Community Bulldogs (28-3) 49-61.

 

Post game game comments from head coach Grady Williams, "we gave it a great fight, but we fell short, we lost 61-49, I would like to thank everyone for their support behind our very young team great season."

 

 

#9 seed Northampton County Jaguars (19=3) lost to #1 seed Plymouth Vikings (22-1) 45-59.

 

 

 

1A Boys

#4 seed Southeast Halifax (22-5) beat #5 seed Spring Creek (22-6) 71-54 to advance to fourth round in th 1A NCHSAA State Championship play-offs.

 

#4 seed Southeast Halifax (23-5) will host #9 seed Riverside (23-3) Tuesday February 28th in the Elite Eight fourth round of the 1A NCHSAA State Men's Basketball Championship play-offs.
