Janice Woodyard McKee, (the Drug Barn Lady) 81, of Roanoke Rapids, NC died Tuesday, February 14, 2017, at her residence.

She was born in Huntington, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Carl Odell Woodyard and Virginia Legg Woodyard.
Mrs. McKee was the Owner/Manager of the Drug Barn, in Roanoke Rapids, she served as a Volunteer at the former Roanoke Rapids Hospital, was a member of the first City Champion Bowling Team and head of the Candy Stripers at Halifax Regional Medical Center.
She is survived by her husband Billy Ray McKee, ; three sons Gregory A. McKee wife Valerie Burns, of Roanoke Rapids, NC, Jeffery R. McKee, wife Beverly Gray, of Roanoke Rapids, NC and Steven Bryan McKee, wife April Vaughan of Nashville, NC; and her adoptive sons Arthur Ray Hawkins and wife, Dr. Valerie Hawkins of McDonough Ga. And Jerry Mathis and his wife Nancy of Canton Ga.; a sister Barbara Barr of Huntington, W VA; four grandchildren, Brandon Dawson, Courtney Wrenn, Jeremy McKee and Allison Askew; ten great grandchildren, Courtney Stout, Kirstie Stout, Leyla Dawson, Brea Dawson, Skylar Wrenn, Cody Wrenn, Madisyn McKee, Riley Askew, Londyn Askew and Ryker Askew.
Funeral services will be held at Roanoke Baptist Church, at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 18, 2017, with Rev. Rick Rogers officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Roanoke Baptist Church, 101 Henry Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
