NCHSAA Fall Wells Fargo cup standings

Wells Fargo, along with the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, has announced the final standings in the Wells Fargo Conference Cup competitions for the 2015 fall sports season.

The Wells Fargo Cup award, sponsored by Wells Fargo and the NCHSAA, recognizes the schools that achieve the best overall interscholastic athletic performance within each of the state’s four competitive classifications. 

The Wells Fargo Conference Cup is a companion to the Wells Fargo Cup and recognizes schools with the best overall interscholastic athletic performances within individual conferences. Wachovia, and now Wells Fargo, has sponsored the conference awards program since 1980.

The following are conference Fall standings with the Roanoke Valley schools and their standings. 

Tar Roanoke 1-A: Granville Central is able to take the top spot after the fall with a championship in football, men’s soccer, and a tie for first in volleyball. While tying with Granville Central on volleyball and taking the runner-up spot for men’s soccer, Louisburg sits in second place. KIPP Pride is third, thanks to a third-place finish in football. Conference Standings: Granville Central 16.5, Louisburg 11.5, KIPP Pride 8, Southeast Halifax 7, Oxford Prep 7, Weldon 6, Northwest Halifax 3.

Northern Carolina 2-A: North Carolina School of Science and Math takes the number one spot, winning league championships in men’s cross country, women’s tennis, and men’s soccer. Durham School of the Arts holds second with a championship in women’s cross country and runner-up finishes in men’s soccer and women’s tennis. In third sits Bunn with a championship in football and a second-place tie in volleyball. Conference Standings: NCSSM 32, Durham School of the Arts 28, Bunn 26.5, Franklinton 24.5, South Granville, 24, Roanoke Rapids 22.5, Warren County 7, Southern Vance 6.5.
