Barbara Lee Stanley Jones Harris, 79, of Valentines, Virginia passed away Monday, October 14, 2024, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Barbara was born April 22, 1945, in Halifax County to the late Julius Monroe Stanley and Vivian “BeBe” Lee Kirkley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie M. Harris, Jr. and her brother, Julius Monroe Stanley, Jr.

Barbara was a member of Fresh Fire Assembly of God, she was a lover of all animals, she found good in everybody and tried to be a peacemaker. She was an artist and loved to draw, a very selfless person. She loved her family and fought as hard as she could to stay here with them.

Barbara is survived by her children, Robert “Bob” Jones and his wife Alba, Adonna Harris both of Valentines, VA, Lonnie M. Harris, III and his wife Holley of Farmville, NC and Tim Harris and his wife Teresa of Valentines, VA; her grandchildren, Ashley Dunnihoo (Dale), Cara Blake Brown (Patrick), Bobby Jones (Kristina), Kailey Taylor, Tori Radford (Troy), Macon Harris (Summer), Colin Harris, Brooke Harris, Kirk Harris, Brittany Lewis, Morey Downing and Heather Dennis; her great grandchildren, Caleb Rhoades, Joey Rhoades, Marley Rhoades, Elan Landen-Perez, Laurali Brown, Ryker Brown, Bo Jones, Baker Jones, Rhodes Jones, Paxton Brown, Kenzie Taylor, Irelyn “Moonpie” Radford, Camden “Toot” Radford and Justin Barber; her uncle, Jimmy Kirkley; her sisters-in-love, Glynn Barbour and Elaine Davis Wong; Her nephew, Alain Stanley; her great niece, Priscilla Stanley.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 18, 2024, at Fresh Fire Assembly of God with Pastor Chris Howerton officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M. prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Fresh Fire Assembly of God, c/o Sound System, 46 Pittman Court, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.
