Lucy Mae Knowles Mozingo, 88, passed away Monday, September 27, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.

Lucy was born January 20, 1933, in Duplin County, North Carolina to the late Oney Earline Knowles and Susie Hazel Taylor Knowles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Troy Daniel Mozingo, Sr.

Lucy was a member of Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church and The Woodmen of The World Society. She was a fine Christian lady and was loved by everybody. 

Lucy loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved gardening, canning, cooking and was a hard working lady. She always wanted to go for a ride on the Harley with her great-grandson.

Lucy is survived by her children, Troy Mozingo, Jr. and his wife Mary of Roanoke Rapids and Gloria Harlow and her husband Lindbergh of Weldon, Glenn Mozingo and his wife Linda of Jackson; her brothers, Ernest Knowles and his wife Evoughn of Sophia, NC and Robert Knowles of Mt. Olive, NC; her sisters, Zadie Cotton of Calypso, NC and Linda Knowles of Goldsboro, NC; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. William “Jim” Whitehead officiating.  

Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:30 P.M. at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service and other times at the home of her daughter, Gloria Harlow.
