Cherri Ann Rauhe Steadman, 72, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020 at Vidant North Hospital.

Cherri was born February 22, 1948 in Petersburg, VA to the late Daniel Rauhe and Estelle Bobbie Bendall Rauhe. She was also preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Tommy Steadman; her brother, James (Fred) Rauhe.

Cherri was a member of Harvest Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church. Cherri worked for Roanoke Rapids Graded School District and Weldon City Schools Superintendent’s office for seventeen years, she also worked at Chaloner Middle School for thirteen years.

Cherri is survived by her children Mark Mitchell and his wife Dana of Gaston and A. Renee Peterson and her husband John of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Samantha and Taylor Peterson; her brothers, John Rauhe of Roanoke Rapids and Scott Rauhe and his wife Janet of Burlington; her sister, Donna Cook and her husband Don of Arizona.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Harvest Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Norwood Starling officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 – 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service.
