Mr. Walter Grey Crawley, 75, of Roanoke Rapids, entered his eternal rest Friday, March 27, 2020, at SECU Hospice House in Smithfield.

Mr. Crawley was born in Halifax County on September 8, 1944, the son of H. Clifton and Mercer D. Crawley. He was a graduate of Wilson Tech and a retired machine operator at Honeywell Corp. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Walter was predeceased by his parents and 2 brothers, Herbert and Linwood. Survivors include 3 sisters: Sue Gibson, Charlotte; Louise Lancaster, Roanoke Rapids; Carolyn Wollett, Wake Forest; sister-in-law Betsy Crawley, Calhoun, GA; and many treasured nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Gale Rigby, Caregiver, for her love, compassion, and care for Walter for over 2 years when sister Sue could not be there. 

A Memorial Service for Walter will be held at Hockaday Funeral Home Saturday, June 13, at 2:00, with Pastor Avery Lail officiating. Visitation will follow.  Burial will be private in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
