Charles Russell Miles Sr. affectionately known by his family as Russell, Charlie Boy, or Pee Wee was born April 9th, 1948.

He passed from his earthly home on November 14th, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ellis and Betty Brown Miles; brothers, Wilson Miles (Louis), Raymond Miles, Douglas Miles (Edna); and sisters Josie Pruden, Mary Williams, and Morene Little.

Charles was retired from Little and Jenkins as a machinist. He was a member of New Testament Christian Church. Charles was an avid hunter and member of the NRA. He loved spending time in his shop reloading bullets and shooting at targets. His favorite thing to do was spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his loving wife of 38 years, Jonnie Nowell Miles. Sons, Rusty Miles (Shannon), Darrell Miles (Paula), Gene Miles (Sandra), and Robbie Miles (Heather).

His brothers, Ellis “Bo” Miles (Ethel), Don Miles (Rachel); his sisters, Nora Warren (Fats), Emily Luter, Dorothy Ennis (Jim), and Betty Clary (David). Granddaughter’s, Breanna Mills “Bre-Bre” (Kenneth), Eryne Miles “Tater-bug” (Josh), Brooke Patterson (Matt), Savannah Miles, Hayley Kub (Michael), Mikaela Mertes, Kaylynn Miles “Monkey”, and Madelyn Miles “Peanut”. Grandsons, Brett Leder and Hayden Leder. Great-grandchildren, Anistyn Mills, Axl Mills, Chloe Lassiter, Andrew Patterson, Tate Nieves, Jordan Kub, and many special nieces and nephews. Extended family Kathleen and Dail Allen.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the hospice nurse Shannon Crawford R.N. who was such a loving and caring nurse until the very end.

The service to celebrate the life of Charles Miles will be held Wednesday November 16th, 2022 at New Testament Christian Church at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel West officiating. Interment will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family received family and friends at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services November 15th, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations to Community Home Health and Hospice or New Testament Christian Church. Arrangements are under care of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.
