Jesse “J.M.” McKinley Vick, 91 of Margarettsville, NC passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022.

He was born in 1931 to the late Vernon M. Vick and Irene Harris Vick and was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Stancell Vick and his sisters, Maggie Vick Pope and Mary Vick Whittington.

“J.M.” is survived by his daughters, Susan Vick Barrett (Alvin), and Ann Vick Williams; his granddaughter, Melanie Williams; his brother-in-law, Tom Stancell (Mary); his four-legged-family Jake and Sophie and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins as well as his very close friend Russell White.

He loved his family, gospel music and reading. “J.M.” was a longtime member of Margarettsville Baptist Church where he served as the Chairman of the Deacons.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 am with Rev. Harold Mullins officiating at Margarettsville Baptist Church.

Interment will follow in Seaboard Cemetery in Seaboard, NC.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17, 2022 from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm at Askew Funeral Service in Jackson, NC.
