Virginia Threewitts Edmonds 97, of Roanoke Rapids died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Edmonds a native of Littleton was born October 18, 1915 to the late Williamson Turner and Neta Mae Baker Threewitts.
Mrs. Edmonds was a graduate of Littleton High School class of 1933 where she was the class President and was the Valedictorian . She was also crowned Miss Littleton in 1933. She was a member of Rosemary United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of the late Clarence Rubin Edmonds. She was also preceded in death by her sister Blanche Threewitts Kuhns and two brothers Williamson Turner Threewitts, Jr. and James Albert Threewitts.
She will be truly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her six daughters Barbara Edmonds Twisdale of Charlotte; Jane Edmonds Thompson and her husband Darryl of Winston-Salem; Neta Edmonds Thompson and her husband Bruce of Raleigh; Gail Edmonds Vaughan and her husband Arthur of Roanoke Rapids; Lynn Edmonds of the home and Kathy Edmonds Faucette and her husband Bill of Corona, California. Ten grand children Hal Twisdale, Leigh Twisdale Schumacher, Tracey Thompson Welch, Jennifer Thompson Ritter, Darryl Wayne Thompson, Jr.; Bruce Thompson, II; Michael Thompson; Craig Grizzard; Sheri Grizzard Chang and Will Faucette, Jr.; and twenty great grand children.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 28, 2012 at 2 P.M. at Rosemary United Methodist Church in Roanoke Rapids with Rev. Jim Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Cheri Parnell, Lacey Mooney, Travis Futrell, Gina Glover and Pam Underdue for the loving care they gave to Mrs. Edmonds.

Arrangements are being handled by Askew Funeral and Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids where the family will receive friends Tuesday, November 27, from 7-8:30.
