Robert Joseph Hubbard, Jr., 71, of Roanoke Rapids, died Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Robert was born in Northampton County, NC, the son of the late Robert Joseph Hubbard, Sr. and Lucille Porch Hubbard. He was retired as Logging Foreman with Bobby Crawley Logging.   He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy F. Hubbard; two daughters, Kristie Lynn Hubbard and Tammy H. Massey; his grandson, Robbie McIntyre; and two sisters, Pauline Sanford and Gertrude Bennett.

He is survived by his daughter, Kathy H. Riggan and her husband, Kenneth, of Roanoke Rapids; three grandchildren, Timothy Wayne McIntyre, Kristie Lynn Massey and Eric Benjamin Massey; his sister, Barbara H. Floyd, of Brodnax, VA; and two brothers, Tommy Hubbard and his wife, Camille, of Gaston, and F. D. Hubbard and his wife, Gwen, of Lake Gaston.

Askew Funeral & Cremation Services in Roanoke Rapids is handling the arrangements, where the family will receive friends on Friday, December 14, from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 15, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Rick Gaskins officiating.  Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids.
