The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Shane Guyant:
On Monday around 11:30 a.m. 18-year-old Xavieryon Samaj Harvey of Weldon surrendered to the police department on warrants related to a chase last week and possession of a stolen vehicle.
Guyant said Harvey, who was not the driver during the chase, admitted to stealing the vehicle from Northampton County.
He was charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle, felony conspiracy, and misdemeanor resisting a public officer.
He received a $12,000 bond and a Thursday district court date.
Northampton authorities were notified of the arrest and may be obtaining additional warrants for the theft of the recovered motor vehicle.
The police department still seeks the identity of the driver.
Electronics thefts
The police department has identified and taken out warrants on Sha’Kim Kyshawn Gaye, 22, of Roanoke Rapids, for electronics thefts on August 20 and September 11.
On each occasion, Guyant said Gaye removed and deactivated a theft prevention device from some stolen electronic equipment.
Officer M. Morris developed Gaye as the alleged suspect.

Warrants have been obtained against Gaye for two counts each of felony larceny by removing/deactivating a theft component, misdemeanor larceny, and misdemeanor possession of stolen goods.

Concealed gun after larceny call
On Thursday around 11:30 a.m. Officer B. Johnson was dispatched to a larceny call at a retail business on Premier Boulevard.
The business reported that a teen later identified as Jarmal Rakim Savage, 18, of Roanoke Rapids, was seen leaving the store with some stolen items in a backpack.

Johnson encountered Savage as he entered a restaurant on Julian R. Allsbrook Highway. While performing a frisk Johson felt a handgun in Savage’s waistband.
After the firearm was secured, Savage was detained and a probable cause search was conducted of the backpack, in which the stolen items were found.
Johnson also located drug paraphernalia and two boxes of ammunition in the backpack. Savage was placed under arrest and was charged with misdemeanor larceny, misdemeanor carrying a concealed handgun, misdemeanor possession of stolen goods, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
He received a $2,000 bond and an October 18 district court date.
