There will be several amusements for children at this Saturday's Roanoke Valley Chamber of Commerce Ducky Derby.
The event begins at 10 a.m. at River Falls Park in Weldon and ends at 3 p.m.
There is no admission.
There will be a train ride around the park, a rock wall, laser tag, the spinning ride the Wizzer and a mechanical bull.
Ride sponsors include Collier Harley Davidson, Carolina Eagle Distributing, ProBuild, NC Glass, Price Refrigeration, US Cellular, G.W. Hux & Co., and Roanoke Rapids First Pentecostal Holiness Church. New this year, there will be a display of big trucks.
Ezzell Trucking and Cloud 9 Vapor Lounge will be on hand with big trucks as well as a car display from Nissan and Honda of Roanoke Rapids. Roanoke Valley Community Health Initiative will have activities including hula hoops, ball and jump ropes with prize giveaways to those joining in.
Citizens on Patrol will be doing free fingerprinting as a service to the community.
Duck adoptions are available now at the Roanoke Valley Chamber office at 260 Premier Boulevard and at the festival.
