The Roanoke Rapids Police Department reported the following, according to Chief Chuck Hasty:

March 13

Around 9 a.m. Investigator Bobby. Martin arrested and charged Jenine Marie Ellis, 44, of Rocky Mount with three counts of identity theft; two counts of obtaining property by false pretense; financial card theft and possession of stolen goods.

The investigation began in January when the victim reported to Officer Linda Baker that a credit card was used in December at a local store without the victim’s permission or knowledge.

During Martin’s investigation it was learned Ellis had also used someone's identity to gain employment and obtain prescription medication by fraud along with using the credit card without permission. Ellis was given a $5,000 bond

The investigation is ongoing and could result in additional charges. Investigator Jeff Davis assisted.

Around 10 a.m. Lieutenant Jeff Baggett responded to a call of a breaking and entering in progress in the 100 block of Monroe Streer.

Baggett located Jimmy Isaiah Williams Jr., 17, of Gaston, behind a residence on Madison Street.

When Baggett attempted to take Williams into custody he briefly fled but was captured and taken into custody.

Williams was charged with breaking and entering and resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer.

Williams was given a $1,000 bond and an April 10 court date.

Officers Gerald Morris and Ryan Cross assisted.

Around 10:30 p.m. Lieutenant Perry Parks and and Officer Mark Oakley responded to a call about suspicious activity at a residence on Georgia Avenue.

The officers located several people inside — Destiny Marie Seward, 18, of Emporia and Anthony Logan Childers, 23, Allison Blake Turner, 18, and John Williams Hall, 24, all of Roanoke Rapids. During the investigation Oakley spoke with the homeowner who said they did not have permission to be in the residence.

Oakley arrested all four and charged them with the following:

Seward — breaking and entering. She was given a $1,000 bond.

Childers — breaking and entering, trespassing and resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer. He was given a $2,000 bond.

Turner — breaking and entering and consuming alcohol by a 19-20- year-old. She was given a $500 bond.

Hall — breaking and entering. He was given a $2,000 bond.

All have April 17 court dates.

March 15

Around midnight Morris responded to a larceny call at Walmart.

After speaking with loss prevention, Morris learned Hunter Ray Jones, 17, of Roanoke Rapids, took items without paying for them.

 

Morris arrested and charged Jones with larceny by defeating an anti-theft device, larceny and possession of stolen goods. He was given a $1,500 bond and May 8 court date.
