The Davie Volunteer Fire Department is responding to a natural gas line leak off Robinson Drive.
Chief David Padgett said the leak occurred when someone was digging in the area of 305 Robinson Drive and struck the line.
The fire department, along with the Halifax County Sheriff's Office, are assisting in evacuating the immediate area and assisting with traffic control.
The rupture occurred sometime around 11:45 a.m.
Piedmont Natural Gas is en route to make repairs. No injuries have been reported.
