An Enfield man faces second-degree rape and kidnapping counts following an investigation into a December 10 report.

Detective O.L. Wiltsie said the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office charged and arrested Donnell Bryant Sr. Wednesday.

Wiltsie said the alleged offenses started in the Roanoke Rapids and Weldon area with the kidnapping and ended in Enfield with the second-degree rape. He was familiar with the victim.

Many aspects of the case remain open, Wiltsie said in a news release, and more charges may be pending.

Bryant was jailed on $150,000 bond and has a January 30 court date.
