A search warrant execution this morning in the Music City community of Roanoke Rapids off Heritage Lane resulted in the second arrest in six months for Aaron Elyewan “Lil’ Boolah” Ashe.

Narcotics Agent J. Puhak of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release the search warrant was the product of community complaints and the narcotics division’s investigative work.

The efforts of today’s search warrant execution was also a collaboration between narcotics agents, detectives and patrol officers, supplemented by Roanoke Rapids Police Department narcotics detectives.

Ashe was allegedly found in possession of 75 grams of marijuana ready for sale.

During the search, ammunition and a firearm were recovered.

In accordance state and federal law, Ashe, a convicted felon, is not permitted to possess firearms.

Despite an altered serial number, agents were able to determine the firearm was stolen.

Also seized today was an undisclosed amount of currency allegedly connected to the discovered narcotics crimes.

At the completion of the investigation Ashe was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and altering a firearm serial numbers.

Ashe, 23, has been the target of drug investigations three times since June, Puhak said in the news release.

The first time the he was apprehended was during Operation Summer Heat Wave, a continuing effort to apprehend drug dealers within Halifax County.

During the Heat Wave arrest, Ashe was charged with various cocaine and marijuana sale and deliver charges.

Today’s arrest was unrelated to that operation.

Ashe was jailed under a $100,000 secured bond with a June 5 court date.
