Three utility trailers have been stolen from the northern end of Halifax County within the last two weeks.

Lieutenant Scott Hall of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said investigators believe they could be stolen for resell or scrap. Scrap yards will be notified.

Hall said the trailers range in value from $500 to $2,000. They are open trailer used for hauling things like lawn mowers.

Hall encourages owners of the trailers to take extra measures to secure them as the thefts are investigated.
