A search warrant execution today led to the drug arrest of a boyfriend and girlfriend in Scotland Neck.

Halifax County Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Bobby Martin said the arrests of Larrael Javon Jones and Caretnia Evette Bellamy were based on investigation of citizen complaints in the Grace Street area. Surveillance was ongoing for about a month.

Martin said agents and deputies seized a small amount of crack cocaine.

Agent A.M. Harris said in a news release Jones and Bellamy were charged with possession of cocaine and maintaining a dwelling for keeping a controlled substance.

Martin, Agent J. Puhak, detectives R. Somogyi and J. Sealey and deputies T. Sewell and M. Brown, the county’s canine handler, participated in the raid, Harris said in the news release.

The pair was jailed on $6,000 bonds and has March 6 court dates.
