A 26-year-old Scotland Neck man was charged Thursday with stealing power from his neighbor.

Detective Doug Pilgreen of the Halifax County Sheriff’s Office said the victim reported to Deputy Brian Knight she found two drop cords plugged into her electrical outlets and running into the neighbor’s window.

Knight charged Larry Dale Summerlin with obtaining property by false pretense.

Summerlin was arrested without incident and jailed on $1,000 bond. He has an October 13 court date.
