Despite a cold front expected to come in this evening there will be little to no change in temperatures or humidity, the National Weather Service reports.

Dangerous heat will build across the region this weekend into next week with very little rainfall offering a reprieve.

An increased heat risk for next week will range from moderate to extreme Monday through Wednesday and a heat advisory is expected for all those days.

An extreme heat warning is issued when dangerous heat is happening or about to happen.

The NWS advises to avoid heavy activity and direct sunlight. Stay hydrated, find a cool indoor place and check on children, the elderly and pets.

Heat index values are expected to be 105 to 109.
