Bennett headed to Chapel Hill high

Tim Bennett has tendered his resignation at Roanoke Rapids High School, where he is a teacher and the school's athletic director.

Carson Smith wasn't on the field but he was remembered in many ways Friday night by his Hobgood Academy teammates and fans.

Jags best Chargers for Bracy bragging rights

Billed as the Bracy Bowl because of the friendly sibling rivalry between the superintendents of the Weldon — Elie Bracy III — and Northampton — Eric — school districts, the game between their two high schools came down to a display of defensive force and ended with the Northampton Jaguars hoisting the game's trophy in a 20-0 win over the Chargers this evening.
