Two of Northampton's touchdowns came on interceptions, one by Keion Crossen at the four-minute mark in the first quarter and one by Diyosha McGee at 7:17 in the fourth that sealed the Jaguar win.
The win boosted Northampton to 4-0 while the Chargers fell to 2-2 following last week's loss to Roanoke Rapids.

“Offensively, I would have liked to have seen more ball control,” said Northampton coach George D. Privott as the Jaguars scored only one offensive touchdown in the game played at Weldon. “There were so many turnovers that Weldon could have capitalized on. The defense was really tough. We could have three defensive touchdowns but one was called back.”
As far as the hype of the Bracy Bowl, Privott said he could have done without it. “Homecomings and pep rallies turn their attention to other things.”
With the hype over, his shirt stained pink from a Gatorade bath and the trophy in his team's possession, Northampton goes to work this coming week to prepare for Southeast Halifax. “Basically we've got a lot of guys injured. Southeast is going to come out and play us hard.”

McGee realized his interception, which made the score 20-0, may have sealed the game for the Jaguars. “We didn't start out too good but we stepped it up. It felt great sealing it with the interception.”
McGee liked playing amidst the hype. “I think it made the teams play harder.”
Northampton struck first late in the first quarter when Crossen got his second interception of the game and ran it back 20 yards.
The first half ended 7-0 as Meshawn Avent intercepted a Charger pass with 12 seconds left.

The only offensive touchdown came at 8:04 in the fourth when, after a three-play drive, Crossen ran the ball in from 5 yards to make the score 13-0 after a fake extra point attempt failed.
The final touchdown came off the McGee interception and Fisher McInville kicked the extra point after a failed field goal attempt earlier in the fourth quarter.
“Turnovers are the kiss of death,” Weldon coach Grady Williams said. “I still give our defense a lot of credit. Northampton came to play.”

Williams said the Chargers need to get more disciplined. “We're not looking at all our checkoffs. We did well. We played hard.”
