RRGSD dedicates, celebrates new Manning school

With all but the finishing touches left, the Roanoke Rapids Graded School District this afternoon dedicated the new W.L. Manning Elementary School.

The Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Board of Trustees welcomed one new member and two incumbents this evening.

Donation to ease Belmont, Manning cafeteria debts

An anonymous donation of more than $2,000 will wipe clean the slates of students at Manning and Belmont schools who have outstanding lunch balances due.

Deese honored for service to school board, education

Longtime Roanoke Rapids Graded School District Trustee Jane Deese joined a long list of North Carolinians Tuesday night when she was awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, the highest honor the state can give for those with a proven record of service.
