Noah Joyner and Brandon Fornes took the oath of enlistment into the United States Marine Corps on the steps of the Halifax County Courthouse this evening during the town of Halifax’s Fourth of July celebration.
The sheriff’s offices of Halifax and Northampton counties are encouraging residents to enjoy a safe and responsible Fourth of July weekend.
Several Independence Day events are scheduled throughout the Roanoke Valley this weekend starting with a parade in Littleton Saturday and ending Monday with fireworks shows in Halifax, Hobgood and Jackson.
