The Emporia/Greensville Meherrin River Arts Council (MRAC) wrapped up it's 2024 concert series Saturday night in Emporia with the The Miracles and The Spinners taking to the stage.

The MRAC–named after an historical river that runs right through the heart of the City of Emporia and Greensville County bring national-quality arts entertainment to a small-town setting.

The Miracles are still after 40 years, attracting enthusiastic audiences around the world. The Miracles, who were the very first group to sign to Motown records, continue to keep the Motown sound alive by performing songs, such as: “Shop Around”, “I Second That Emotion”, “Tears Of A Clown”, “Love Machine”, “You’ve Really Got A Hold On Me”, “The Tracks Of My Tears” , “Ooh Baby Baby” and many more.

The Spinners are one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history. Throughout the years the Spinners remained perched atop the Pop, R&B, and Adult Contemporary Charts, with smash singles like, “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling In Love,” “Then Came You,” “The Rubberband Man’’ and many more – earning six Grammy nominations, 18 Platinum and Gold Albums, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and selling millions of records worldwide in the process.
