William 'Arthur' Larrimore

William “Arthur” Larrimore, 86, beloved husband, daddy, papa, brother, and uncle, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018, peacefully at his home in Roanoke Rapids, NC. 

He was born on July 13, 1931, in Vance County, NC, to the late Lillie Viola and William Henry Larrimore.

He graduated from Roanoke Rapids High School and married Vatania “Vickie” Rook Larrimore on June 19, 1954.  

Arthur worked for 37 years at Carolina  Telephone where he began as a lineman and continued as a supervisor of lineman records until retirement. 

Additionally, he operated his own business as an electrical contractor as well as working as an independent contractor for the telephone company after retirement. 

His honesty, dedication, and encouraging demeanor were qualities admired by all.  

Arthur’s faithfulness and devotion to his wife and family were evident especially as he provided care for his wife as her health declined during their 58 years of marriage.  

Always saying how blessed he was, he and his beloved wife reared their five girls with Jesus Christ at the center of their lives.    

Survivors include his five daughters: Vickie Hagberg (Gary) of Chesapeake, VA; Sandra Lynch (Claude) of Littleton, NC; Angela Strickland (Jerry) of Raleigh, NC; Joy Cooper (Neal) of Raleigh, NC; Tammy Irby (Roger) of Coopersburg, PA; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; Sisters: Lillie Pearl House of Galivants Ferry, SC, and Thelma Revelle of Moncks Corner, SC; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.He was preceded in death by his parents; Brothers: James Ivey, Sam Littleton and Wardell Littleton; Sisters: Leatha Morgan and Cenobia Pond; and an infant daughter, Angeline.

A celebration of his life will be conducted Wednesday, February 28, 2018, at 11:00am by Reverend Randy Martin at Calvary Baptist Church, 1045 Bolling Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC.  

Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 27, 2018, from 7 – 8:30pm at Wrenn, Clarke, & Hagan Funeral Home, 1015 West 5th Street, Roanoke Rapids, NC. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
