The JV Roanoke Rapids High Yellow Jackets baseball team hosted the Franklinton Red Rams Friday afternoon at Doyle field.

The Jackets beat the Rams by the ten run rule 14-4.

Carson Neal led the team with 3 hits and scoring 3 times on the night. Cameron Wilson had a double, Cameron Medlin 2 Doubles, Caleb Johnson 2 Doubles, Colin Long 2 hits, Ethan Vincent a Double, Ethan Dixon 2 hits, Marshall Keeter 1 hit.

Jake Van Dam started on the mound giving up 2 runs, Trevor Harrison came in the 3rd inning giving up 2 runs and Cameron Medlin came in to close. Combined they gave up only 3 hits.

Post game comments by Jackets head coach Aubrey Coker, "We played better offensively and especially at the plate. We are still not as aggressive as I want in pitch selection and on the base path. Our Pitchers pitched well, but walks are turning into runs and we are going to have to focus on throwing strikes more consistently. Trevor Harrison came in to pitch in the third and I feel his nerves got the best of him, but it was his first appearance in a JV game. I know that if works hard he has the potential to be an impact for RRHS on the mound. Cameron Medlin is producing on both sides of the plate with his bat as well as his left arm. We are continuing to work hard in practice on fundamentals that will win us ball games."
