Rapid fire: Hansbrough deal an empty one

The Hornets are reportedly going to acquire former UNC star Tyler Hansbrough from the Toronto Raptors.

Hansbrough averages 7.2 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game for his career.

Upon hearing this news, my initial and current reaction are why? Acquiring Hansbrough adds another power forward to an already crowded group: Frank Kaminsky, Spencer Hawes, Jason Maxiell, Marvin Williams, and Cody Zeller.

The signing of Hansbrough seems to be an empty one. His skill set does not address the Hornets' most glaring need: a knockdown shooter from three. Hansbrough's position is also redundant: Cody Zeller is the same player, a non offensive threat that brings energy and effort off the bench.

The move can only lead me to assume one of the aforementioned PFs will be released or traded. For Rich Cho and Jordan, this is another "what are they doing moment?" Let's hope I'm wrong and this move works out.
