The Roanoke Rapids High School Lady Yellow Jackets softball team advance to the third round of the NCHSAA 2A State Championship play-offs.

The #2 seed Lady Jackets beat the #18 seed West Craven Eagles 5-1 Friday night at Carleen Goodwin Field.

Jackets senior Kalissa Williams earned the win surrendering five hits and one run going seven innings striking out nine and walking three.

Kaysie Summerlin went 2-3 on the day and Alayna Davis also collected two hits for the day. Kamryn Johnson stole two basses for the Lady Jackets.

The #2 seed Roanoke Rapids now host #7 seed Jordan-Mathews Tuesday night at Goodwin Field.
