The Roanoke Rapids Lady Yellow Jackets softball team advance to the second round Tuesday night with a 7-0 shutout against Louisburg at home on Goodwin Field.

Jackets senior Kalissa Williams struck out 11 batters giving up zero runs over five innings while walking two. Madison Jones pitched two innings for the Lady Jackets in relief, striking out two and walking one.

Jones, Maecy Garris, and Shakyla Odom each collected two hits for Roanoke Rapids. Kaylee Collier, Kaysie Summerlin, Garris, Jazalyn Ham and Odom each drove in one run for the Jackets.

The Jackets didn't commit a single error in the field. Alayna Davis had the most chances in the field with 14.

The #2 seed Ronoke Rapids will host #18 West Craven Friday night at Goodwin Field at 6pm.
