With a 100-meter dash time of 14.45, 10-year-old Roanoke Rapids native Ryleigh Daniels qualified for the AAU Track and Field Junior Olympics at the Region 5 Qualifier hosted at Highland Springs High School in Highland Springs, Virginia. 

Daniels is a member of the Portsmouth-based Lazers Track Club coached by Les Young. 

The best amateur track and field athletes from across the country will convene on the campus of North Carolina A&T University in Greensboro from July 30 to August 6 to vie for their chance at gold in their respective track and field events. 

Daniels is the daughter of Ryan Daniels and the late Jamel Darden, the granddaughter of Dr. Elie and Mrs. Kimberly Bracy and the late Mr. James and Mrs. Lucy Darden.

June 18 — First place in the 100 Atlantic Coast Invitational in Norfolk (14.26, a personal best and season best)

June 18 — First place in the 200-meter Atlantic Coast Invitational in Norfolk — (31.24)

June 26 — 100 Qualified Region 5 Qualifier in Highland Springs (14.45)

July 15 — Second place in the 100 Track Under the Lights in Woodbridge (14.51)

July 15 — 200 Track Under the Lights in Woodbridge (29.87, a personal best and season best)
