This past Saturday October 27, the Roanoke Rapids High School Yellow Jackets Cross Country teams traveled to Croatan High School for the NCHSAA 2A East Regional Meet. The event drew 122 male and 98 female runners from 22 schools.
The RRHS Men's team finished 7th place in the team point standings. The Yellow Jackets were paced by Jacob Bouchard , with a time of 18:49 and Harry Crawford with a time of 18:54.
The RRHS Women's team finished 12th in the team point standings. The Yellow Jackets were paced by Caitlin Bobbitt with a time of 23:11.
The highlight for the Yellow Jackets was Bouchard and Crawford qualifying for the NCHSAA 2A Championship meet as individuals.
Coach Mark Snead stated, "I am extremely proud of both teams today. They ran their hearts out and had our best meet of the year. Then to have Jacob and Harry qualify for the State Meet was icing on the cake. This is what makes high school sports so great. To have student-athletes see the rewards for their hard work and dedication throughout the season."

The NCHSAA State Championship meet will be held on Saturday November 3 at the Ivey Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, NC.
