The Roanoke Rapids High School Cross Country Team competed this past Saturday in Cary, NC at the Mideast Regional Cross Country Meet.

The Men's Team finished in 5th place, only 9 points behind the 4th place Team, which advanced to the State Meet as a Team.

The Women's Team finished in 6th place, only 1 point behind the 5th place Team.

Two Jackets, Daniel Acree and Caitlin Bobbitt,  advanced to the State meet in Kernersville, NC because of their individual finishes at the Regional Meet.

Roanoke Rapids Head Cross Country coach Aubrey Coker stated, "Words cannot describe how proud I am of each and every student/athlete that was a part of this CC Team this year.  Each and every team member contributed to the success of each other.  They practiced together, ran together, traveled together and most of all pushed each other to be better.  Daniel and Caitlin  are great competitors as well as teammates and deserve to represent RRHS at the State Meet and I know they will do a great job.  I want to say a huge thank you to Coach MacNichol's for her wisdom and dedication to this team.  She is a great asset to our CC Program.
