Roanoke Rapids High Varsity baseball team beat Riverside-Martin 10-7 Friday night on the road.

The Jackets jumped out to the lead in the top of the second inning after Tyler Pierce singled, scoring on run, an error scored one run, Collin Elias doubled, scoring three runs and Will White singled, scoring on run.

A single by Maddox Bullock extended the Jackets lead to 8-1 in the top of the third inning.

Bullock earned the win for the Jackets. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three and walking four. Bryce Manning collected the save.

Jackson Midget and Bullock each collected two hits. Elias and Bullock each drove in three runs. The Yellow Jackets ran wild on the base path, amassing four stolen bases for the game. Roanoke Rapids turned on double play in the game.

Roanoke Rapids improve to a 5-1 overall record and a 2-1 in The Big East 2A/3A conference.

Roanoke Rapids travels to Nash Central Tuesday.
