The Roanoke Rapids Youth Baseball Association (RRYBA) 15U All-Stars advance from pool play to the Babe Ruth ENC State Tournament championship bracket set for Monday.

The Roanoke Rapids 15U All-Stars Babe Ruth ENC State Tournament start Friday was washed out in Newport and resceduled for Saturday. And the team from Roanoke Rapids came to play baseball.

In game one of the day, the Roanoke Rapids Allstars opened with a 6-4 win over Lumber River with a two run homerun in the bottom of the seventh.  AJ Strickland had a bases loaded double in the 3rd to put the Roanoke Rapids team up 3-0.  In the top of the 6th Lumber River answered with 4 runs to take the lead and held it heading to the bottom of the 7th.  AJ Strickland hit a 1 out homerun to tie the game. Then Josh Coker followed with an infield single followed by a  Austin Geary  two-run homerun to end the game with a win.

In game two of the day, Roanoke Rapids faced the home team of Newport. With score tied 8-8, Roanoke Rapids wins their second game on a 7th inning bases loaded walk-off walk.

The Roanoke Rapids 15U All-stars wins their pool bracket with a 2-0 record and advances to the 4-team playoff bracket for the 2019 Babe Ruth ENC State Championship on Monday. Roanoke Rapids will wait out Sunday's games to learn their Championship bracket seed and game time for Monday
