William Thomas Johnson, 81, passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Edgar Johnson and Jessie Chappell Johnson, brother, James Edgar Johnson Jr., and his sister in law Patricia Futrell Johnson.

William is survived by his wife, Deborah Warwick Johnson, sons, William Thomas Johnson (Catia), Jeff Wilhelm (Susan), Jason Barnes, daughters, Nicole Jenkins, Amber Danielle Turner (Jonathan), grandchildren, Nicholas Denny, Luca Cash Johnson, Max Daniel Johnson, Noah Patrick Walton, and Lyndsey Campbell, brothers, Michael Herman Johnson (Kim), David Glenn Johnson (Denise), sister, Joyce Lynn Johnson.

William enjoyed walking in nature with his dog and goat by his side. 

He made multiple friends over the years working at Odom Prison. William enjoyed canoeing in Dawson’s Mill Pond, and enjoyed cooking in his wok. 

There is never a doubt he loved his family, children and grandchildren. He loved going to the Dare county area at the beach. William served in the Airforce and Army National Guard.

A visitation will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Wrenn Funeral Home from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at New Cedarwood Cemetery starting at 1:00pm with Pastor Matthew Reider officiating.
