A public observing session with telescopes is planned Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Medoc Mountain State Park.

The event will be held near the new moon so there should be a dark sky. Jupiter is up but is moving westward early. Galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters will be observed.

Be prepared for the weather and bugs.

The event may be canceled on short notice if clouds or inclement weather become a problem.
